Abersychan is a small hamlet launching you into the the vast beauty of South Wales. There are walks aplenty through the Brecon Breacons, and nearby, the opportunity to explore the Blaenavon heritage area, once the world's largest iron making site, but now restored to nature and with four museums and relics to the past.

Natural history is superb and fly fishing opportunities abundant. Trevor is a member of Crickhowell Angling Association and can guide anglers in the right direction. Llandegfedd reservoir is about 15 minutes away.

Lots of golf nearby, my favourite, with gorgeous views over the reservoir, is Woodlake Park.
Bird watching sites are numerous and Trevor has knowledge of many local sites through Gwent Birds.
