Well done if you've found us! We get most of our business from airbnb but resent the 17% charged on top of our fees which makes us look much more expensive. We aim to be affordable and competitive and 17% distorts that.
The Whirlies apartment is within Sunnybank, an imposing property extended around 1860, from Georgian cottages built before 1830. It has been occupied by Alderman John Daniel, a local philanthropist, and Cyril Sullivan, a Director of the Blaenavon Company which ran the ironworks. In later years it was a Doctor's surgery.
It had substantial grounds, orchards, and stables and was surrounded by stone walls with a magnificent entry. Over the years, some of the land has been sold off, but she still retains delightful views over the valley. We have removed several elderly pine trees that blocked the view and which has also allowed us to extend the car parking area.
We ran a B and B business in Dorset (The Whirlies) for several years, and achieved Trip Advisor "Excellent" status. We moved to Wales in 2016 to be closer to family, and started our new business here in March 2019. Our customer reviews are all from customers at this new location.
